lookin at the screen all night
tv, then the phone
advertisements blast at you
hard sell gets the dough

then you go to work each day
and do the same ol thing
you wonder what is wrong 
feeling weak instead of strong

not a machine
and life's not on a screen

Where's my spirit 
I'm no where near it

there's a power in your soul
that you must help to grow
no matter young or old
you can do it

inner peace you'll find
and through your life will shine
energy to build 
a brighter world

but if you buy the lie
and your spirit you deny
by being just a cog in the big wheel

one day you'll wake to find
no money can't buy
the satisfaction of a life fulfilled
